HERITAGE FIRST GOA PRESENTS FRIENDS OF FILM OUR RIVERS • OUR STORIES The state of Goa has an abundance of 11 major rivers and several hundred freshwater springs, tributaries, and minor water freshwater bodies. Its estuaries and mangrove ecosystems are also breeding grounds for fish and other marine organisms that provide the people of Goa and the lakhs of visitors that come to enjoy the unique cuisine of this state with food and livelihoods. In the light of the current status of the river generally known as Mhadei, Mahadei, Mahadayi or the Mandovi, including pollution, diversion, increased salinity, marine life depletion, siltation, overburdened by transportation and others, our film festival 2026 has curated a set of films made by filmmakers based in Goa on the river for the first of the two segments of the Festival. In the Second segment, we have hand-picked a set of films that tell stories, works of fiction that have their basis in fact, in real-life situations. Award-winning films like Ancessao will be screened followed by a conversation with the film maker and the main protagonists. All in all, the festival hopes to wrap our heads and our hearts around our lives, our stories, the Goa of our experience, the Goa of our everyday life.

Seating inside the auditorium is on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend arriving at least 15–20 minutes before the scheduled screenings.
Light snacks and refreshments will be available during the breaks. Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the main screening hall.
All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
However, passes are transferable—if you are unable to attend, simply share this e-ticket with the person attending in your place. Do inform us about this change at least 24 hours prior to the event.
In the unlikely event that the festival is canceled by the organizers, full refunds will be issued to all ticket holders.
Yes, Maquinez Palace features a special elevator and designated accessible seating spaces inside the auditorium.
The films being screened are open to all ages.All persons below the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees and guardians will need a valid ticket.
Free public parking is available outside the venue, and is subject to availability. Paid parking is available at the Inox complex
