Heritage First Goa (HFG) is a not for profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Goa’s built, natural and cultural heritage. Our mission is to build awareness, educate, and empower communities through contemporary programs that highlight the significance of heritage in an ever-changing world. We focus on interdisciplinary research, capacity building, and public engagement to ensure heritage is cherished and protected for future generations.
Our logo is inspired by the Goan Godri – hand-made patchwork quilts, which is valued both as a heritage craft and for its artisanal appeal. These quilts reflect the creativity and resourcefulness of the region’s artisans, blending functionality and upcycling textile waste with cultural storytelling.
For us, it represents the coming together of different aspects of Goa to craft something beautiful and purposeful together. Our logo is an ode to the craftspersons of Goa who bring beauty to items of everyday use and make them memorable.
At the heart of Heritage First Goa is our dedicated and visionary leadership team. Our directors bring a wealth of expertise, diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to preserving and promoting Goa’s built, natural and cultural heritage.
